Fighters from across An Tir have prepared for this moment for months\, each eager for their chance to prove their mettle and earn the right to crown their inspiration ruler of An Tir.\n\n It is the law of the great land of An Tir that each spring a new Royal Heir is chosen by right of combat. Their Royal Highesses Crown Prince Owain ap Einar and Crown Princess Adwen Wrenn invite the populace of the Kingdom of An Tir to gather together in the heart of the Inlands and bear witness as Their own successors are chosen. Once you have had your fill of savouries\, the sweets then dance upon your pallette as the Immaculate Confection\, the Baronial sweets competiton is held. The laughter and camaraderie will only be shadowed by the skilled bards vying to be Champion of Seagirt. The Shire of Danescombe invites one and all to come out and fight for their inspiration of love. The tournament shall feature both the armor and rapier tournament to honor the inspiration of the combatant and to select a defender for the shire. There will be an A&S competition with the theme of "A ROSE" and for those that wish to not watch the tourney\, there will be workshops. Kristophe (rapier marshal)\n\n Special note:\n 1.) No one ever loses a rose. Namely\, once they have a rose they have one\, end of story\, Nothing is worse than taking a rose away from a 4 year old that someone picked as an inspiration. 2.) Although it's not written in the rules I firmly believe each inspiration should start with one rose. That way even if their fighter loses 3 times they still get to keep one rose. Now the rules.\n Concept: To prove to the known world and the assembled masses that your inspiration is the most worthy you will gather roses in their tribute. However\, as with most things: roses cost money. To this effect\, the fighters must combat each other to win sufficient money to purchases roses for their inspirations. Details are:\n 1. Each fighter receives 3 coins to start. The loser of a challenge must give a single coin to the victor.\n 2. Roses cost 2 coins to purchase and are required to "win" the tourney. Hwever coins represent lives so purchasing roses puts the fighter at greater risk of being killed. Fighters must balance their strategy.\n 3. You can only purchase one rose per round. IF you horde your coins you may have many coins/lives and still fail to make the semi's because you don't have enough roses.\n 4. You must have a coin to wager in order to participate.\n 5. The 4 top rose purchasers will comprise the semi-finals\n 6. The winner will be awarded the Danescombe Rapier Defender title.\n\n Heavy rules to follow soon and event agenda:\n\n Feast:\nFeast tickets $10.00 before Jan 10\, 2010 thereafter $12.00\n\n Menu (rough draft)\n 1st removed: Assorted cheeses\, and breads\, Amuse Bouche (stuffed mushrooms) and devilled eggs\, assorted butters\, olives/ dates.\n\n Bardic\n\n 2nd removed: Leek and oinion soup\, vegetable tarts\, pickled herring and Norse Pies\n\n Bardic\n\n 3rd removed: Assorted roast meats\, assorted sauces\, honey carrots\, peas with pearl onions\, roast parsnips\n\n Bardic\n\n 4th removed: dessert course - cheese tarts/ custard and fruit tarts\, gingerbread\, almond cookies\, stuffed dried fruit\, and fruit in season\n\n Members wishing to enter bardic please send an email to pheasant01@yahoo.com with your name: the length of time required for the bardic\, and title of bardic piece.
