We've all heard the idiom: Beating a dead horse. We're
accustomed to the idea of bashing something into our brains until
the thought sticks, right? We know that repetition is the key to
Welllll, welcome to the wonderful Barony of Wealdsmere where we
not only enjoy the idiom, we resemble it! That's right, you guessed
it. Yakbert. Now, now let me stop you right there. I know what
you're thinking.. "Yakbert isn't a horse, he's a yak." True. "He's
also not dead. So we're beating a live yak? Oh, PETA is going to be
all over this."
Ahem. We seem to have gotten off on the wrong hoof. Let me start
Have you been closely following the story of our dear friend,
Yakbert? Were you there at last year's Celtic Revolt where the
formidable foe, Brynjolf the Yak Thief, yak-napped Yakbert? Did you
eagerly await news of his discovery and rescue? I'm sure you did.
We all did. But then, did you hear tails of his appearance and then
disappearance at the Barony of Sentinels' Keep's event, Hell's
Gate? Oh yes. Once again our loyal companion was taken from us. And
then at Raptor War Randy the Rampant Ram joined our story, or at
least officially joined it. There's some nonsense about a horse and
the ram, but we won't get into that now (mainly because we don't
want PETA to get any wild hares).
Those of you who joined us at Border War know how bravely and
fiercely the children fought to reclaim our yak, and reclaim him
they did. They captured the Yak Thief, and he was forced to return
Yakbert to us. And all were to rejoice in his return! But this is
not where the tail ends. If you recall, there is another victim of
this story, Randy.
Poor Randy the Rampant Ram. Randy made his first appearance at the
very Celtic Revolt where Yakbert was yak-napped. His story is of
love found and love lost. It's a thrilling tail of one ram's dream
of frolicking through fields of daisies with his horse soulmate by
his side... But it has manipulation and greed woven throughout. The
truth must be told, but in order to do so the truth must first be
Join us in the beautiful Barony of Wealdsmere this Memorial Day
Weekend as we finally discover the truth behind The Tale of Randy,
and in doing so, the truth behind The Tale of Yakbert.
