From the Mists of Irish Prehistory come Tales of Heroes, Gods
and Monsters to stir the heart and make a warrior long for
the clamour of battle. This Memorial Day
Weekend,
The Barony of Wealdsmere invites all and sundry to join us in
a long holiday weekend of Competition and Camaraderie as we
trace the course of the mythical Tuatha De Danann as they
conquer and secure the Emerald Isle.
Throughout the weekend we will determine our Champions for
the coming year in all categories (Heavy, Rapier, Archery,
Bardic, and Arts and Sciences).
Fighting
will begin with war and melee scenarios on Saturday and
continue in Tournament form on Sunday. As at last year’s
Celtic Revolt , there will also be hands-on classes in Arts
and Sciences, Bardic, Pied Piper and Newcomer
activities.
NEW THIS
YEAR,
we will enjoy the Hospitality of HL Sgt. Michael ofLancasteron his
private property inNorthwestSpokaneCounty.
We hope that this will be a vast improvement over the
problems we faced at the old site. Can you say no Merchant
surcharge? We
sure can! How
about no more $5-a-day surcharge just to park your
car? Yes! We
can say that too! There is also a massive
two-story Tower for both Heavy and Rapier to play
with. Even
better, there is aHUGE
piece of land adjacent to the property that belongs to the
Department of Natural Resources and is available for our
use. This
promises to be an event to remember so plan on staying the
whole weekend!

Site Info: Name: Lancaster Estates 6325 Hwy 291 Nine Miles Falls, WA 99026
Directions to Site:
Make your best way to Francis
in Spokane, WA. (I-90, north on Division from the west, or
north on Argonne from the East)
Follow Francis West to
Assembly.
Both streets come together as
9 Mile Road (hwy 291).
Follow Hwy 291 approximately
12 miles.
You will go through Nine Mile
Falls, along the river, up Big Sandy, through Suncrest, down
and up Little Sandy, then you will pass two roads on the
left, the second being Villier (this is at mile marker
17). Do not
turn here! Stay
on 291 for about 300 more yards, you will see a single
driveway on the left. This is the
site. If you
pass it, you'll see the tower and then you'll know that it
was definitely the place. The house is not visible
from the road, but if you go down my driveway you'll see
it. It's a log
home, so if you see any other kind of house, you're on the
wrong driveway.
Note that the above Weather and Map information is generated from the site address and can be easily confused. The weather will say if its for the branch or for the site. It will be for the site if the site can be found, but this again is not always the case, and if the site is some distance from the branch then the weather may be different.
