Lions Gate and Seagirt were equal in the arts of war and peace. Time has passed and there is disquiet in the Baronies of Tir Righ. Jealousies have arisen. Seagirt has a mighty fine flock of snow white sheep\; fattened on the greenery of Insula Magna. Lions Gate's own riches are reflected in the fine meat and excellent wool of its flocks. Rumors abound that Baron James seeks to lure the unsuspecting beasts from their kind shepherd\, Thegn Eideard. Will Seagirt be able to protect itself and its sheep from invaders? In round one they grab the sheep and run off field with as many as they can. In round two they start with the number of sheep they captured in round one and try and cross the field as the defenders try and block them. rounds three and four are the same scenario with sides reversed\, The side that retrieves the most sheep wins the point. *If and only if\, neither side captures any sheep the point will be awarded to the side that brought the most sheep.\n Archery point\, to be fought Saturday after Heavy and Rapier\, or if they run too late\, Sunday morning.\n All the sheep are gathered into a herd\, One sheep in the centre is given wolf ears and a tail.\n Starting at 20 yards each archer gets a chance to shoot the wolf\, Hit a sheep and you are eliminated.\n Each round moves back 10 yards until only one side is still shooting. Blow through the wolf with a heavy bow\, and hit a sheep is an elimination. Bounce off and hit a sheep (with the point) is an elimination.\n\n Bardic Point : A family friendly song or story involving sheep. You cannot turn left from the highway to Spruston Road\, so you will need to go past the road that leads to the site. A few minutes north of the Cassidy Inn there is a U-turn route (also the exit for the Bungee Experience). Take the U-turn route under the highway and head south. Turn right on Spruston Road. Site is approximately 5 km in from the highway\, on the right\, just past a V in the road. Follow the signs to the site. (approx 5kms). From the North Island - head south on Highway #1 and turn right onto Spruston Rd. Follow the signs to the site (approx. 5kms). From the Mainland - Take the ferry to either Duke Point or Departure Bay\, then make your way south and follow the directions from the north island. WARNING: If you are using Google Maps or a GPS to help find your way\, please disregard directions once you leave the highway! They will lead you into the middle of nowhere and you will miss the correct turnoff.

The most straight forward way is to travel north from the truck crossing up 176th St. Turn right on Golden Ears Way and follow it to go over the new Golden Ears Bridge. HOWEVER\, BE AWARE THAT BRIDGE IS A TOLL BRIDGE. If you do so then turn right at Hwy #7. Alternately\, cross the river on the Port Mann Bridge to the Pitt River Bridge if you are coming from the West or the Mission Bridge if you are coming from the East. Then Follow the above directions.

Then follow the directions above.\n\n IMPORTANT LOCAL AREA INFO\n Rock Creek is a small rural town about 40 mins east of Osoyoos\, BC which is Canada's only desert.\n\n The town of Rock Creek has a licensed pub\, two gas stations\, family restaurant\, a small country store at the Petro Can where you can buy 'some' groceries and also some alcohol\, there are a few additional tourist shops as well. This time of the year the river might still be quiet cool IF you dare to go swimming\, but the water is clean.\n\n The surrounding area is valley bottom with the river and many horse\, cow and hay ranches\, and surrounding mountains. Days will be warm to hot and a dry kind of heat like Kelowna. Evenings will cool down some. Bring your sun screen and drink lots of water.\n\n Coming from the west you may want to stop in Osoyoos as there are two larger grocery stores as well as a full liquor store\, all are on the main street which is also Highway 3.\n\n Coming from the east you may want to stop in Grand Forks for liquor and groceries. Both are on the main highway (Hwy 3) that runs through the town and at the very western end of the town will be a very large grocery super store.\n\n Coming from northward it is best to stop in one of the many places in Kelowna before travelling to the event site for your main food and liquor.\n\n Coming from the south you will come up into either Osoyoos or Grand Forks.

There is the friday night Sun Setter tournament. On Saturday\, we've got the traditional Holmgang and the Never Won a Tourney Tourney. And if you've not had enough fighting then on Sunday there is a Double Elimination Tournament and the Gladiator Style Tournament.\n\n We've got tournaments for the rapier fighters as well. There is going to be a double elimination tournament\, a cut and thrust tournament\, a three man rapier melee tournament\, and a roving duello tournament.\n\n Both heavy and rapier will also have an invitational tournament. Invitations will be going out shortly to high end fighters to request their participation. These should be really good tournaments to watch.\n\n Perhaps you are more interested in archery? Egils will have many fun and challenging archery tournaments.\n\n There will also be the traditional Three Pillars Tournament. This tournament combines the three pillars of the SCA\, fighting\, arts and sciences\, and service to form an overall tournament for the event. In addition to the fighting\, included above\, there will be competitions for A&S including costuming\, bardic\, decorated useful objects\, games\, and period encampments. For the service side\, there will be points awarded for the most volunteer hours spent in parking\, collection trash\, and working the various jobs at the event. These all lead to an overall prize for the tournament\, and prizes for the individual events.\n\n And the prizes. We've got a lot of really great prizes lined up. There are cloaks\, bucklers\, and daggers in line for rapier prizes.Hand made shields\, a custom shield boss\, and dinner for two are some of the prizes for the heavy tournaments.\n\nAdiantum's Baronial Changeover will take place at this event.\n\n All and all this is lining up to be an exciting event\, and we hope you can attend. Extra points will be awarded for period pieces.\n\n Each division will have a prize. However\, the overall champion will be the judges' favorite entry from all the divisions.\n\nA&S Champion's Tourney: Here is the information the Tourney for those who are preparing their entries: There will be three divisions for the entries: Beginnger\, which will require no documentation other than to be able to verify that the art was in existence in period. Intermediate\, which will have documentation and is for people who have never won A&S contests before. Experienced\, for people who have won contests before and who are ready to be held to the highest scrutiny. Each level will have a prize. However\, the overall champion will be chosen by populace choice. Baroness' Brine Delicacies Competion: In the spirit of fun and a love of pickled foods\, Her Excellency\, Baroness Kara\, will be holding a competition for the best pickled fruit\, vegetable\, and/or protein. All pickled food items must have been prepared by the person entering the competition. All persons wishing to enter should bring either one large unopened jar or two small unopened jars of the item/items they are entering. Entries will be judged on taste\, texture\, and appearance with additional points being given for unique display of the entry. So bring your best pickled food\, and see if you can win the pickling prize!\n\n Subtlety Contest: Do you have an interest in medieval cooking? Have you always wanted to make food that looks like something else? Well\, here is your chance. Subtleties took a wide range of forms throughout the period from simply vividly colored foods (like frumenty) to more elaborate displays representing allegorical\, mythological\, or historical events (e.g. models of castles\, cooked meats redressed to look like the animal they originated from). Entrants must include a list of ingredients with their entry. Documentation is not required for this contest\, but you can present it with your entry if you so choose.\n\n Siege Cooking Contest:\n\n Participants will be provided a bag of ingredients and three recipes. The recipes will be written in Old English\; so the participants must either be able to read it or decipher it. Participants will have 2 and a half hours to complete the recipes. They must bring their own serving and cooking gear. They must be present for while their entry is being judged and be able to describe it to the judges. There will be a limited number of supplies for this contest. Those wishing to enter are asked to contact the Event Stewards (contact information below) prior to the event so that enough supplies will be available for those wishing to enter.\n Silent Auction: A silent auction will be held at Celtic Revolt as a fundraiser for the Barony's Sergeants Trials. The auction is being hosted by the Grand Bazaar on Merchant's Row. Bidding will begin after morning Court on Saturday\, and it will close just prior to Closing Court on Sunday. Anyone wishing to donate an item to be placed in the silent auction is encouraged to contact the event's Merchant Coordinator. His contact information can be found below.
