**FIGHTERS: Words from Duke Tomuki on his
fighting and teaching:**
I started fighting
spring of 1988 and I won crown fall of 1989, Calontir. I was
Knighted august of 1991 at pensics . Due to mundane jobs,
Actor/Musician, I have lived in several Kingdoms. In 1998 I fought
and won Crown in Caid.
I center my teaching on discovery. I want the student to discover
what he or she can and can't do and use that information to their
advantage rather than a hindrance. Once the fighter understands and
accepts their strengths and limitations they are ready to really
explore our style of western martial arts.
Now, with the above self actualization of your fighting style, you
can start to analyze others styles and figure out why certain shots
work for them and how to steal that shot and incorporate it into
your style, hopefully with the same success.
My fighting style is an ever evolving thing. Things i could do at
18 I no longer can sustain. The constant energy expenditure,
ducking when I didn't need to just cause it seemed cool, leaping in
the air etc..., is to much after 24yrs of fighting . So, I have
learned economy of motion and picking the time and place to burst
into action.
Note that the above Weather and Map information is generated from the site address and can be easily confused. The weather will say if its for the branch or for the site. It will be for the site if the site can be found, but this again is not always the case, and if the site is some distance from the branch then the weather may be different.
