While the Kings,
Princes and Barons lead a group to war it is the job of the Queen,
Princess and Baroness to inspire great loyalty, to inspire a person
to become a warrior and place themselves between home and
battle.
It is She Who
Inspires that leads the heart of the Barony. Lions Gate has had
memorable ladies in the Baroness's seat, Amanda, Aurora, Caitrin
and Margaret, all strong noble women that encourage and
inspire. Join us on Dec 1 at the Port
Kells Community Hall to salute the Baronesses of Lions Gate,
past and present, and revel in our memories of how they have
inspired us. So we have something for
everyone at this event
Heavy Fighters - there will be the traditional unbelted prize
tourney, challenge a knight and show your Baroness (and those past)
what you are made of
Rapier Fighters - I am not sure what Captain Matt has planned but
there is a chance to win impress with your skills (and snappy
style) in the main tourney or for those new to the art of rapier
Gerhards Ripose
Artisans and Scientists - Did you create something inspired
by a Baroness past or present? Did you try your hand at a new skill
because one of the Baroness's of Lions Gate encouraged you? Show
us! We have a small display area set aside in the "quiet room".
Bards- come and entertain during supper with stories, song and even
a dance!
Service minded people - as all events we need marshals, people to
assist with water bearing, to set up the erics (I'm a an archer I
dunno what the heck to do with those things) and gate!
Those that enjoy a flash of steel or the action of a heavy tourney
we have a raised viewing area so you can see your favourite fighter
smash or slice through their competitors. Site fee $15 - no

Note that the above Weather and Map information is generated from the site address and can be easily confused. The weather will say if its for the branch or for the site. It will be for the site if the site can be found, but this again is not always the case, and if the site is some distance from the branch then the weather may be different.
